****************************************************************************************** **** ALL NOTICES AND CHANGES FOR THE DAILY LISTINGS WILL NOW BE LOCATED IN THIS FILE ***** ****************************************************************************************** ========================================================================================== December 2014 As a result of the changes in the racing landscape on the California circuit, and to try and maintain some continuity in Slew's data, I have decided to add the Thorougbred meeting at Los Alamitos Racecourse. I have no data on the particulars of that course, and so will be using the generic data built into Slew. However, this will allow me to extend the data on those horses that race that circuit. Play accordingly. ========================================================================================== July 2014 I have settled on a restriction for listed horses. They will have had to run no more than 270 days prior to the date of "today's" race. As long as that is the case, if there is a second listing that supports a fast race (and is greater than 270 days),it will be added as well. Thus, horses that ran in fast race more than 9 months in the past and have not qualified for a fast race since then will no longer be listed. ========================================================================================== The "T" (TARGET) designator explained... The FHF now uses the designator "T" on a full time basis. I'll explain what that is. First, here is a listing without the "T": 9-Mrs. Rosa OP 5 04Oct12 7sa 4 * 3 36,257 | -15K / 1 (8-1) Now, with the "T": 1A-Blue Notion PRX 6 18Feb13 8PRX 1 * 3 T 24,000 | 4K / 3 (3-1) What is the difference? The "T" does not reference the race noted as a fast race (2/18/2013), but more the current race that the horse is running in today. The reference is to what I call a "TARGET" race. This indicates a combination of factors that point to a trainer running a horse into a race that fits a certain profile. The time period for applying this criteria is 90 days. The criteria includes factors such as distance, surface, and recency among other things. It is recommended that this be considered with trainers that have a "good" or better win percentage. 10% or better is recommended. =========================================================================================== MARCH, 2013 I have made an addition to Slew's listing which I think will be helpful both in the information it provides and the readability of the listing. Horses that had their last two races quality as "FHF" races only had the best one or the last one listed. I have changed that and will now list them both. I find this information helpful in reviewing an entry, especially if the last two races were qualifying heats. The reason I only showed one up until now was because the readability of the report was cluttered and often times confusing as to what appeared to be duplicate data. I have remedied that situation in the following way: HORSES FROM FAST RACES ==================================================================================================== NAME Trk Race Last Race Fin * FHF ITM Avg| Today M/L =================== 4:00 PM ======================================================================== 3-Double Ante SA 2 16Feb13 6sa 2 * 4+T 56,800 | 1K / 3 (2-1) 2-Miss Pippa SA 2 16Feb13 6sa 4 * 4+T 57,000 | 1K / 2 (5-2) SA 2 22Apr12 1SA 1 * 3 ------------------- 4:31 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As you can see, Miss Pippa had two qualifying races back to back. In the original listing, only the 16Feb13 race was listed. However, to make the record more complete, I now list both races and for ease of use, I have eliminated the redundant information. Here is another example. In this case, the listing continues after the horse with duplicate entries: ------------------- 3:52 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1-Ornellia Aqu 7 28May12 5BEL 2 * 4 54,400 | -2K / 2 (2-1) Aqu 7 01Jul12 10BEL 1 * 3+ 3-Hurricane Kitten Aqu 7 10Feb13 2AQU 3 * 3 T 50,500 | 1K / 4 (15-1) 6-Dandy's Noble Aqu 7 24Jun12 5BEL 5 * 3 50,000 | 2K / 5 (4-1) ------------------- 4:22 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In the case where a horse is listed twice but not consecutively, all the data remains in place. ------------------- 6:03 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6-Promiscuoussuances SA 6 22Feb13 5sa 2 * 3+T 34,857 | -2K / 6 (3-1) 9-Three Cuties SA 6 19Jan13 4sa 4 * 3 T 25,545 | 6K / 7 (10-1) 6-Promiscuoussuances SA 6 19Jan13 4sa 5 * 3 T 34,857 | -2K / 6 (3-1) ------------------- 7:07 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here is an example of a consecutive listing witH ONE target race. Today's race is at 1 1/8 miles. Copper Bay ran that same distance on Jan. 21, then ran a flat mile on Feb. 17. The Jan race rates a "T" because the distance relates to today's race. ------------------- 4:00 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8-Just Fishin SA 2 17Feb13 6sa 2 * 4+ 51,500 | 4K / 2 (1-1) 6-Copper Bay SA 2 17Feb13 6sa 4 * 4+ 50,500 | 5K / 3 (2-1) SA 2 21Jan13 3sa 3 * 3 T 8-Just Fishin SA 2 17Jan13 6sa 4 * 3 51,500 | 4K / 2 (1-1) ------------------- 4:30 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I hope you find this addition helpful. - Slew
